Many years ago I found myself at K-$hellz's recording studio in Port Arthur, TX when during a casual conversation he mentioned that there is a rapper from PA who I should check out. That rapper was GP 4/5, and little did I realize that years later he would be this far down the road to fame. GP is a member of a hip-hop collective from Port Arthur called "4/5." The group also includes KJustafied, King Oti$, DeeKay Longevity, and the late great J-Dubb. 4/5 was started as a movement to remember Jacovan Savoie who passed away on April 5, 2010. GP 4/5 has been consistently giving us hit song after hit song for years at this point, and we cannot wait to hear more!
GP 4/5 has a very lyrically intense rap style that doesn't rely very heavily on punchlines because the content is as real as it gets. He has developed his own movement which he calls "Campaign Bidness" which exists parallel to the 4/5 movement. GP has featured on songs with Bun B, J. Stone, Trae The Truth, & Yella Beezy, but has yet to be outshined on a track. The Port Arthur native was also mentioned by Bun B during his 2018 interview on The Breakfast Club. So it's safe to say GP 4/5 is doing something right!
GP recently released a music video for a song called "STILL HIM" which was filmed by Book Bag Films, but was not a song featured on his previous album Hollyw14d. We can only assume this means GP 4/5 is working on an entirely new project. That's what is so promising about GP... The guy is consistent! He doesn't waste his budget on flashy jewelry and designer clothes. He keeps his style down-to-earth and focuses on investing into his sound and his visuals. This is a clear recipe for success, and we just hope that GP 4/5 keeps doing exactly what he's been doing.
