HeavO

Consistency is one of the key factors when a person has a desire to become a big name in hip-hop. Heavo embodies everything you think of when someone asks "What is consistency?" She's best known for her super hard freestyle videos that she distrubutes on her social media. At this point Heavo has been dropping these vertical TikTok style freestyle videos years before TikTok was ever created. In the beginning it was obvious that Heavo didn't have the means to get into a recording studio or shoot tradional music videos, but that didn't stop her from jumping into the rap game with what she did have... A cell phone! Yeah you heard that right, Heavo is the true definition of what Bob Marley meant when he said "If you don't start somewhere, you're gonna go nowhere."

Heavo is from a small town called Beaumont in Southeast Texas, and she represents it to the fullest in her music. Her style is punchline heavy, and she once explained to me that her goal when writing her lyrics is to switch up her flow pattern every 8 bars in order to keep the listener's attention. Though she started her journey off alone, Heavo eventually began to work with other Beaumont producers and artists such as FAT on da Beat, Geto G, D-Lew, & Jaye Biggs who helped to elevate her musical production value. Eventually she collaborated with Port Arthur native Brithaney Renaee to remake the classic Wreckshop Records song "Maan!" This song also got her on the radar of Noke D and D Reck which in time landed Heavo a short cameo in the film "The Dirty 3rd: Next Generation."

Her latest big move was dropping a music video with Big Jade for their new song called "D-Up." The song was produced by Geto G and the video features Big Jade and Heavo spitting their verses with with the Lamar University Lady Cardinals hyping them up in the background. The visual was filmed by Big Jade's go-to videographer Two3 Films. One thing I know is that we all are excited to see Heavo starting to release traditional music videos for some of her fire tracks. Let's hope that she starts to link up with even more videographers to give us the great content that she's known for!
