Let's be real guys. You don't get an article written up about you by being an average rapper. This guy Mickey Woods Jr. is anything but average. He's a Port Arthur, TX native whose music exists in a creative pocket that is far outside of the normal everyday hip-hop artist. Therefore, I'm not going to waste your time trying to explain who you can compare him to. Just dont try to compare him. Period!
Mickey Woods Jr. always keeps his content focused toward soulful, down-to-earth subject matter. He has literally spit raps about everything from "Plastic Covered Couches" to "Propaganda." He's featured on songs with GP45, King Oti$, Karlay, and more. Not to mention his recent song "Name This Hoe Later" which features the UGK legend Bun B, who also hails from Port Arthur. Sonically Mickey Woods Jr. makes great music with assistance from talented producers & engineers such as K-$hellz, Payton Sensei, Tony Dark, & Things With Todd.
Mickey's latest full-length project was titled "The Golden Triangle" which is a nickname for the area in Texas where he was raised. The project was executive produced by Things With Todd who completely brought his entire personality and influence to each track. Things With Todd is known for his dry humor, which he included in the music videos and promotional content for this project. Even the cover art is a hand drawn cartoon that includes a set of coordinates that direct you to downtown Beaumont, TX when you type them into Google Maps. Mickey Woods Jr. also recently dropped a short EP called "The Fast Life Demos" which includes more introspective rhymes over some dope beats. If you need a break from the constant trash being released by mainstream rappers, do yourself a favor and check out Mickey Woods Jr.
