Once upon a time, a serious rap career didn't even seem like a real option in Beaumont, TX. It seemed as though the resources needed to be a rapper just didn't exist in the 409 area code. That was always the case until the infamous Quincy Black and his crew linked up with director Trill Art, and began releasing extremely high quality music videos on Youtube sometime around the year 2013. Quincy Black is a prominent rapper from Waverly street in Beaumont, TX whose music is known for containing hardcore street content and raspy melodies. Quincy Black is part of the rap collective Go Ent (aka Go Gang, fka OAG) which also includes fellow artists Ebodi, QD Da Don, & Yung Black Huarache.
Quincy Black has described himself as a "red nose" which is a breed of pitbull that originated in Ireland. Red nose pits were originally bred as house dogs to become aggressive in defense of their family. This aggressive trait has been displayed by Quincy Black on a number of occasions which has earned him a reputation for being a bully at times. He even famously pressed Trill Sammy backstage at Compro Event Center for utilizing his trademark phrase "On Go" in one of his songs. Despite his big dawg reputation, Quincy Black has been featured on popular publications like Say Cheese TV & Off The Porch. He's also featured on songs with many artists including BeatKing, J Dawg, Big Jade, & Yung Martez.
Quincy Black recently dropped a music video for a new track called "Big Shit Poppin." The song samples the 2007 single by T.I. of the same name. The video was filmed and edited by Houston-based videographer Cash Jundi and features Quincy Black performing the song in front of a flawless blue cadillac on 84 swangers. Several other Go Gang members can also be spotted supporting Quincy Black in the music video as well. We are also looking forward to Quincy dropping a new album that is rumored to be fully produced by FatOnDaBeat who was the producer of Quincy Black's biggest hit "Bank Roll." So in closing, if you're ever in the 409 area code please look up Quincy Black, and in the words of Birdman, "Put some respeck" on his name!
